  • Everything is clearly marked and explained. So much to see but at the end we weren't exhausted because it was amazing. One of the statues we enjoyed was Chiron teaching music to Achilles. We enjoyed h...  more »
  • We enjoyed the visit but are not art experts and found the range of styles limited to keep our interest. Certainly go if you like religious and 15th/16th century art but otherwise perhaps one to miss.  more »
  • a gallery of precious works of art starting with the tele to finish the many beautiful sculptures by Canova and paintings by Hayez ... I hope the enclosed photo make at least some justice to the unmissable Gallerie dell'Accademia

  • Renaissance art with a very very heavy emphasis on paintings of the Madonna and Christ child, including many by famous Italian artists. But this is a one trick pony from my perspective. Only spend your time and money here if you love religious Renaissance paintings. There's little else.
  • I felt disrespect and discrimination. The conductor began asking me how old I was. Then still sold the tickets at the original price. it because only Europeans have discounts below the age of 25. I would like to ask: Since there is no concession, do you ask me how old am i? And i want to ask why europeans have discount?
  • Heavy on religious art from the early Renaissance. Interesting temporary exhibition on Canova etc
  • Unbelievable artwork from 15/16th century. A must see when in Venice.. A large collection of paintings on Jesus. Mary and the saints and related events
  • An awesome collection of art linked to Venice. If you have any interest in art from the renaissance to romantic, be prepared to spend at least three hours here, with much gasping at yet another masterpiece - longer if you use the audio guide on all of the work it covers. (You can appreciate much of it without, thanks to dual Italian / English info.) My favourite bit was the juxtaposition of the 'here's what we got back from France after Napoleon naughtily stole it' pieces with the large 'we stole St Mark from Egypt and we don't care who knows it' painting.
