Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Palatine Hill and Colosseum. Vatican Museums and Pantheon are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Take a break from Rome with a short trip to Villa Adriana in Tivoli, about 36 minutes away. There's lots more to do: don't miss a visit to Trevi Fountain, explore the world behind art at Borghese Gallery, get to know the fascinating history of Piazza Navona, and see the interesting displays at St. Peter's Basilica.

Considered a cultural, artistic, and architectural jewel of Italy, Florence is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
Explore hidden gems such as Galleria dell'Accademia and Piazzale Michelangelo. Visit Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Siena Cathedral for their historical value. Change things up with a short trip to Piazza del Campo in Siena (about 1:25 hours away). In July, daytime highs in Florence are 89°F, while nighttime lows are 65°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sun) to allow enough time to take a train to Venice.

Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Kick off your visit on the 16th (Sun): appreciate the extensive heritage of St. Mark's Square, contemplate the long history of Ponte dei Sospiri, then admire the landmark architecture of Doges' Palace, then contemplate the waterfront views at Canal Grande, and finally take in the views from Ponte di Rialto. Keep things going the next day: explore the world behind art at Peggy Guggenheim Collection, then admire the striking features of Basilica di San Marco, and then admire the striking features of St Mark's Campanile.

Traveling by train from Florence to Venice takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and flight. When traveling from Florence in July, plan for a bit cooler days in Venice, with highs around 83°F, while nights are about the same with lows around 68°F.
