Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.Step off the beaten path and head to Oak Alley Plantation and Laura Plantation. Explore New Orleans' surroundings by going to Houmas House Plantation and Gardens (in Darrow) and Nature & Wildlife Tours (in Slidell).
