A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Start off your visit on the 16th (Sat): admire the natural beauty at Portland Japanese Garden, then take in nature's colorful creations at International Rose Test Garden, and then stop by Powell's City of Books. On your second day here, steep yourself in history at Pittock Mansion, admire nature's wide array of creatures at Oregon Zoo, then take in nature's colorful creations at Lan Su Chinese Garden, and finally sample some tasty brews at a beer tour and tasting.
