Dubai Spice Souk, Dubai

3.0
#9 of 73 in Shopping in Dubai
Explore the scents, flavors, and colors of Emirati cuisine at Dubai Spice Souk, a traditional market. Wander the multitude of covered streets, taking in sights of sacks overflowing with spices, herbs, and fruits. Independent vendors will offer you a glass of tea and tell you all about their proudly displayed stock. If something strikes your fancy, remember that haggling is the norm here, so try your best to get a fair price. Take your camera with you to snap shots of the artfully arranged stalls and the traditional local produce. Dubai Spice Souk is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Dubai Edition.

  • The Spice Souk takes trip to a Dubai. Bought some spices. Action is a must. Less than 50% of the first mentioned price paid at the end. TOP!

  • You need to be very very careful, don't buy from the first seller. Ive got three different prices for the same specific brand of green tea. If they feel that you don't have enough experience they will screw you. Trust me. You need to be very very very careful with those deceiving people. Not all of them but the vast majority.
  • Amazing place to visit.. If you are a tea person then you will love the variety of tea.. They have the finest vanilla pods that I have ever seen
  • Amazing experience...for one looking for olden days style shopping at Dubai!! Range of spices available is astounding!
  • The market is colorful and has great selection. The shop workers will try to hustle you like there's no tomorrow. I like to bargain but I'm not in to being hustled. When a shop owner tries to tell me that he wants $225 in local currency for $10 US worth of goods I just walk out. If they get upset I just tell them they shouldn't take me for an idiot and I'm not going to barter when they start out at triple value, if they truly feel insulted then they should have more respect for the opportunity to sell to tourists.
  • Visit the place for traditional spices and tea from all over the world at affordable prices. Jut next to gold souk must visit place. I bought the amazing pomegranate tea named hazer baba Love the Taste. And try the the cinnamon which is so fresh !!

Where to stay in Dubai

Dubai is a city of hotels, with most of the world's leading chains represented. Rooms remain expensive and luxurious, as most establishments cater to visitors with deeper pockets. You can still save money on accommodations if you look hard enough. Move away from the coast for more affordable backpacker hostels and self-service apartments, as well as less expensive hotel rooms where a lack of luxurious amenities and less appealing views keep rates suited to budget travelers.
