Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai

4.3
#4 of 76 in Shopping in Dubai
Enjoy a memorable shopping trip at Ibn Battuta Mall, an enormous and interestingly themed retail center. Opened in 2005, the complex includes six separate areas, each designed in the style of a land visited by Ibn Battuta, the famous Moroccan Berber explorer. The architecture, color schemes, and styles of Andalusia, Tunisia, Egypt, Persia, India, and China are sensitively referenced across the expansive mall, creating distinct atmospheres. The tastefully decorated space offers more than 270 shops, 50 restaurants, and a multiplex cinema, but even if nothing takes your fancy, you'll enjoy seeing the impressively conceived interior design and the commitment to the cultural styles it seeks to imitate. We live quite close to Battuta mall and we enjoy going here. It's not like the super high end malls in Dubai. The design is a lot different. It's like walking down streets with traditional shops and i...  more »

I like this mall, as it is a bit quieter than the more well-known malls in Dubai. Not as many tourists, mostly residents, and therefore not as crowded. All the usual suspects are here; a cinema, good choice of restaurants and fast food outlets, coffee shops, retailers and so on. Ample parking, although not all of the spots are covered.

This is my favorite mall in Dubai. Not as overwhelming as Dubai mall. But beautiful architecture with the different themes. Uncomplicated mall as it only has one floor. Overall it's more affordable than mall of the Emirates and Dubai malls attractions. Easy access via metro, many taxis to cater for shopper needs and just an awesome mall to take the family

Beautiful mall with a very interesting theme. It's been designed to reflect different cultures from around the world. Different shops where you can find everything you want with plenty of coffee shops and a nice food court. They just need to have free WiFi like most of the other malls in Dubai. Would highly recommend.

Nice mall, one level and easy to navigate through, reasonable size and availability of parking is always a plus point, you can have your car washed for 15 AED (cheapest in town) and the cafe options are a lot and very well positioned so don't worry about finding a place nearby anywhere you are in the mall. Some popular brands may not exist there

World largest themed mall with fine interiors. U have landed into dream palace of time . Like time machine has taken you in that era...good for shopping and food.. relatively calm and massive parking...

Where to stay in Dubai

Dubai is a city of hotels, with most of the world's leading chains represented. Rooms remain expensive and luxurious, as most establishments cater to visitors with deeper pockets. You can still save money on accommodations if you look hard enough. Move away from the coast for more affordable backpacker hostels and self-service apartments, as well as less expensive hotel rooms where a lack of luxurious amenities and less appealing views keep rates suited to budget travelers.
