  • I had a few hours to kill before a flight so I checked out the Space Center. Super glad I did. Great exhibits and knowledgeable hosts. I didn’t have time to do everything because of my time restraints...  more »

  • Great place to visit, especially with kids who are interested in science & tech. (5 star for this) Tram tour (we took red tour) / guided tour (Apollo) was awesome - this is the best part. The guide was a great story teller on mission to moon) (5 star for this) It's better to buy online ticket and take timed tour. Today (12/26/2017) there were about 500+ people in the queue, waiting for tram tour. We were lucky since we bought online tickets and selected timed tour option (no extra cost for timed tour). It was raining, no cover on the cart (3 start for this) Not sure why the food is so expensive!!! (Water about $3, very basic sandwich is about $9 - it's a rip off). (1 star for this) Great experience, but there is lot of scope to improve overall experience.
  • My boys loved it. Both of the tram rides were very informative. We all loved seeing the Saturn V; it was so big!! And seeing the Johnson Space Center campus where all the scientists and astronauts work was really neat. They have interactive displays, and just a lot of space things to see. Independent Plaza was super cool too, and getting to the very top was such a cool thing to see. This was our second time here, and if we made it back to Houston, we will visit again. Also, get the Houston City Pass. You can see the Space Center and 4 other attractions. It's a great price.
  • I'm always amazed each time I come here. It's so cool that there are real equipment on display. The center is well laid out with each of it's exhibit. Definitely take advantage of the fact that you can sign up for times ahead of time for the tram tour. We did and was able to bypass the super long line. Also, if you don't plan on buying pictures, you can just kindly tell the worker you don't want to picture taken. I highly suggest the red tour over the blue because you can see more activity. On the blue tour, you see the control room. A presenter gives a short speech on the use of the control room and points out some interesting trivia. On the red tour, you get to see the testing center for actual astronauts. It feels like a slightly longer tour than the blue. On both tours you end with a visit to Saturn 5. Lastly, you can save $5 off your ticket if you pick up a coupon at any Randall's in Houston. They always have them in a box by customer service. $5 for parking.
  • I had been here 4 times already, I love it. This time I bought the audio tour and found it not useful because you need to have more time for each attraction and since we were going to be there 1 day I didn't listen the audio. But if you are going to be here more than one day, then the audio tour will give you a lot of information. Now you can go inside the shuttle and the 747 that you can see from the parking lot, that is a great addition!
  • Wonderful place! One can stay the whole day there and it is not enough to see and learn. Besides museum, the best parts are the trims in the campus and visit lab and areas where the very action occurs, and "meet an astronaut", that was awesome! Just plan well so you can visit all the places you are interested in.

Where to stay in Houston

If you come to Houston to splurge while on holiday, book a luxurious room at a downtown hotel. This area is an ideal base for getting to know Houston, offering you a chance to stay within walking distance of one of the country's largest theater districts. Houston bills itself as the "Energy Capital of the World," so it's no surprise that it houses many "green" hotels, their garages designed to cater to electric vehicle owners. For something completely different, enjoy a Texas country experience at a working ranch outside the city limits.
