Water Wall, Houston

4.5
#2 of 16 in Nature in Texas Gulf Coast
Standing more than 18 m (60 ft) tall, Water Wall recirculates more than 4,000 li (1,057 gal) of water per minute. The architecture of the wall behind the water features a semicircle with water cascading down the structure's inner and outer walls. Be sure to step inside, where the deafening roar provides another perspective of this centerpiece of the city's business center. There is no fee to visit the wall, but be mindful of posted opening and closing hours. To avoid parking fees, park your car at the nearby mall for free and walk over. • Wall wasn't at all what I was expecting. The wall was made out of concrete not water. *Clickbait* False advertisement.  more »

  • A fun place to go on a picnic. It is incredibly hard to find parking so be ready to walk a little to get here but it’s worth it once you arrive.
  • It was a cool place to visit on a day trip downtown Houston in the Galleria area
  • Architecture of the Wall is marvelous. It's unbelievable. Park is pretty good with ample of space to walk, jog or just relax.
  • A waterwall/waterfall in the Galeria area. It is several stories tall and really is a wonder to see. You don't really have to worry about getting wet but it does mist the air pretty well. In general this is a Quick tourist attraction. You may not spend more than 10 mimutes here but it is worth the visit. There are always kids, families, and pets running around enjoying themselves. It would also be a good place for a picnic as there is a large park between the waterwall and the skyscraper next to it.
  • Our Kids loved the freedom running between lawn and waterfall both. Design is beautiful.

Where to stay in Houston

If you come to Houston to splurge while on holiday, book a luxurious room at a downtown hotel. This area is an ideal base for getting to know Houston, offering you a chance to stay within walking distance of one of the country's largest theater districts. Houston bills itself as the "Energy Capital of the World," so it's no surprise that it houses many "green" hotels, their garages designed to cater to electric vehicle owners. For something completely different, enjoy a Texas country experience at a working ranch outside the city limits.
