Springs Preserve, Las Vegas

4.4
#9 of 33 in Parks in Las Vegas
Get to know the life that thrives in a desert at Springs Preserve, which extends across 73 hectares (180 acres) interlaced with walkways. Based on Las Vegas' original water source, the preserve includes botanical gardens, galleries, and event venues. Take a stroll along themed trails to learn about the various vegetation that grows in the desert, or marvel at the colorful creatures in the butterfly garden. While there, make sure you catch the super-realistic "flash flood" show. Learn local history from photographs in the museum, change up the scenery and explore the wetland habitat, and see if you can catch a show in the indoor theater (check the website for information). If you get hungry, stop by the onsite cafe. Take a look at our Las Vegas trip itinerary builder to schedule your visit to Springs Preserve and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • Lots to see here, so get here early in the day. A good place to discover that Las Vegas is not all glitz and glitter, but a place with a fascinating geography and history. The landscaping is beautiful...  more »

  • We always have a great time at the preserve. Things are kept pretty clean, the playground is awesome, the museum always has exhibits that keep the kids interested in learning. The vegetation at the springs is awe inspiring considering it is the middle of the Las Vegas desert, the butterfly habitat is gorgeous, and they rent out bikes to explore the trails. They have a picnic area near to a play area and sandbox as well as some little "waterfalls" cooking down the side of the tall wall to help you cool off during the summer. We have the family pass which allows us access an hour earlier than they are opened to the public, gives us a discount at their restaurant (which serves pretty excellent food, beer and wine) and which is located above the nature exchange. The nature exchange is yet another excellent way to get kids out and learning about nature. Nevada state museum is also on the premises and is included in general admission price to the preserve. The springs preserve is a must visit.
  • There is a lot to do at Springs Preserve, too much to do it all in one day. The museums are perfectly designed to appeal to kids and teach some good lessons - I can't imagine a more entertaining sustainability exhibit, it's probably not possible. The gardens are lovely, sight, smell, sound and feel. Plenty of shade. The playground is great. The cafe serves actually really good food that's not too too expensive. We didn't have a chance to see the small animals. I'd love to go back and rent a bike to ride on the trails.
  • Having lived in Las Vegas for over 15 years, and attended / worked in conjunction for a multitude of functions at Springs Preserve – I really wish there were more stars to give. An exemplary desert-themed attraction filled to the brim with enough wonder for all ages, gorgeous galleries and informational exhibitions, holiday events, gift shops as well as some amazing festivities & more. A sprawling 180 acres of nature walks / trails, the Desert Living Center and the Springs Preserve amphitheater (Las Vegas' only intimate outdoor venue) are our favorites. Discounted admission for members, the preserve continually offers interesting, imaginative and entertaining ways to learn and enjoy. Definitely the opposite of the Las Vegas themed attractions, this is by far one of the very best ways to spend your day, so far removed from the strip. By all costs, seek the preserve out – especially if you are also planning a beautiful outdoor wedding, or simply want to photograph some breathtaking scenery. Simply amazing.
  • This place is amazing to take your family to or even just go by yourself or with a friend. Lots of different things to do and it's so beautiful. Clean and we'll kept. The restaurant has good food too and a happy hour. The balcony has a great view.
  • I have been here twice with my 2 kids ( 4,2 y/o) and we love it! There are so many things to do. The garden is beautiful and the kids can run around and explore. The butterfly habitat is incredible! They have a great play ground for children 5 and up but even my kids, who are younger, enjoyed it. We have yet to take a class or visit the museum but we will be back this week for more. Btw the membership is totally worth it! Lastly, the staff is genuinely nice, friendly and really helpful!
